This is the song from the Perks of Being a Wallflower that Charlie listens to over and over again when he gets depressed. I love this song, and I love the book it comes from, so I decided to get help from my art teacher and do a painting of the lyrics instead of just a drawing. The mountains in the background come from what I see when I hear the song. At the beginning, there is like a wind blowing in the background, and the song itself is just really chilling and cold and depressing and suicidal, so I wanted to make a picture that conveyed all of those feelings when you looked at it. That’s why I chose the muted blues and dark grays. And the snowy mountains represent the emptiness and alone-ness you feel when you get sad or depressed.   The song is called “Asleep” by The Smiths.
